With the NAR, we aim to track children and adults with autism over time. This means that if you register, you will be invited once a year to complete an annual questionnaire. You can decide each time whether you want to participate.
What exactly does participation entail?
You register for the NAR by completing the application form. Participation in the register is voluntary and free of charge. As soon as we receive your form, we will immediately send you an e-mail asking you to complete an online questionnaire. This questionnaire includes questions about your background, your parents and other family members, problems with autism, diagnosis, any additional problems, treatment, education, work, living and leisure. It takes about half an hour to complete.
Sub-studies
In the future, we will probably ask you if you are interested in participating in smaller sub-studies in addition to the annual large measurement. Such a sub-study can be written (like a questionnaire), but we may also invite you or your family members for an interview. Sometimes there are also other forms of research, such as completing online tasks. You can choose per study whether or not you want to participate.
Comparing scores
Every year, participants who participated in that year's measurement receive individual feedback on their answers. This allows participants to compare their personal scores with the average of all NAR participants and participants of similar age and gender. You can find more information about the individual feedback here.
